Artist's Description
Bumpy the Squirrel is a recent addition to my portrait series. Bumpy the Squirrel is a bedtime story that we made up when my boys were small. Whenever we see a squirrel we still laugh and call it Bumpy.Bumpy learned to listen to his parents and this is how he got his name by a bad run in with the street. Bumpy ran out in the street and never looked and then BUMP a car ran right over poor Bumpy. Bumpy his mother said I told you please be careful of the street are you alright? He had to go to the doctor and he hurt everywhere. He never forgot how lucky he was that day and for everyday afterwards Bumpy always knew to take his time and always first look right then left then right again before crossing the street. Bumpy's bruises and boo boo's healed and now Bumpy wasn't so Bumpy after all, but he kept the name as a reminder. He would always be careful and never ever run into the street without looking both ways first..
