Autumn Colors is a recent addition to my Abstract Series. When summer breathes it's final breaths warm winds turn slowly cooler welcoming Autumn with windy arms.Before long everywhere you look is painted all the most beautiful colors of Autumn.Did you ever wonder why Autumn has two names? In the 12th and 13th centuries Autumn was called Harvest and was known to mean ""a time of reaping" and "the third season of the year". By the 16th century Autumn (a word borrowed from the French) became more widely used and continues to be used today. At this same time Fall of the leaf and Spring of the leaf both came into popularity and were eventually shortened over the next hundred years to Spring and Fall.
