Description
A recent addition to my Abstract series called Winter's Last Stand. When I came upon this ragged leaf lying upon the white snow it spoke a story to me. A story of a journey a life lived much as we live ours. After all once it had been alive attached to a tree thriving, lush, and green. Creating shade along with it's fellow leaves for anyone that may sit under it. It had a purpose basking in the sunlight, until it's season had past, and then a strong wind blew in from the east and it flew away from it's home. Now a brilliant red streak soaring through the air. It landed beneath the tree laying side by side with the fallen leaves. The cold winter winds were hard on the leaf and it showed it's battle wounds proudly. Fighting each blast of cold and every winter storm the leaf waited patiently for spring to smile upon it's face one last time. © 2018 Robyn L. King

It is quite odd, in a way, how often decay in nature produces great art. Of course it also need a great artists to spot, and capture it when it occurs ! :-)
