Description

On The Wings Of Love is the second addition to my Butterfly Garden Series. The Hummingbird Moth is an incredible insect that looks and sounds very much like the hummingbird and at a quick glance can sometimes be mistaken for one. Upon closer observation you realize that a beak is not present and two little antennae are perched upon it's little head. This crafty bug is a fantastic mimic. Watching this beautiful moth was very fascinating as it flew from bloom to bloom drinking contentedly from each flower's sweet nectar.There is not a lot of information that indicates which species of moths live the longest as an adult. Some of the Sphinx Moths (also called Hummingbird or Hawk Moths, probably can live for at least two or three months.Their primary goal during this time is to find a way to mate for survival purposes.Summer love takes on a whole new meaning for the hummingbird moth since without a mate they would cease to exist.
